Seinfeld – This is the name of one of the most carefully orchestrated show in television history. The show is considered to be one of the very best television comedies ever. The show, which is about “Nothing”, gives you a dose of laughter with 30 minutes of nothingness. Seinfeld went on to make a considerable 180 episodes contained in 9 seasons over a 9 year long span. Seinfeld, after its introduction in the year 1989, soon became a hit with households all over America.
This show is mainly composed of four main, hilarious characters. Seinfeld – a stand up comedian, Elaine Benes – ex girl friend of Seinfeld who is now a good friend to both Seinfeld, George and Kramer, George Costanza – Seinfeld’s balding, ’stocky’ friend and Cosmo Kramer – the eccentric neighbor. The interaction of these characters provided a comedic synergy. With an array of other characters such as the Bubble Boy, the Soup Nazi, Newman, Uncle Leo and many more.
This show ruled at the top of the charts for many years, the reason being is that each episode tackles the simple things that people generally do, like buying groceries, cooking, relationships and other day to day activities, giving the viewer a sense of belonging and involvement.
The Seinfeld fans are craving for more and more Seinfeld shows to be released, for this reason Sony brought out all the 9 seasons through DVD box sets.
Seinfeld was the brain child of the great comedian Jerry Seinfeld and best friend/writer Larry David. The popularity of this situation comedy show is unmatched to date. Audiences were attracted by the dialogs and the absurd situations that these characters would find themselves in. For eight long years this sitcom worked its magic on viewers.
Seinfeld episodes display flashes of brilliance that made this sitcom a huge success. This show continues to flourish in syndication. The viewership of this show far exceeded any of its rivals.
The show which was first aired in the year 1989 made a mark in our hearts which will never fade, the show may be over 9 seasons later, but it still easily gets laughs from both new and old Seinfeld fans alike.
